morgan has really discovered her own skin in the last year – so exciting to see her confidence grow when she is in her element. when they are “in their skin” at this age it is all they think about and talk about – or so it seems.

The trick for us as moms is to become comfortable with “their skin,” learning what it is that makes these sweet girls tick. And for me, it’s also about learning that HER “skin” isn’t MY “skin.” And that is MORE than okay.

Oh, and by the way, yeah – your blogging friend must live very nearby – I’ve noticed that in some of the details of her posts. But I see she is moving! Right in time for me to discover her presence… If she were staying, you could kill two birds with one stone and visit us BOTH!

I think the time in childhood when a kid so naturally feels in his/her skin is so precious. It fades all too quickly – but then, as adults I think we can make the choice to be fully in our skin once again – caring less about what others think and more about how to be true to who we are. Whether it’s horses or writing or playing with our kids.
