December 31st is My Birthday…

…and it is also the last day of the year.

My video blog, a couple days late. And of course, the still shot would be a less-than-attractive shot of my face…I guess that’s what I get.

    I still think you’re rocking this! I know I know…

So. Your bangs look great! I have a friend who says “when all else fails, at least you have your looks.” I think you’re beautiful. :)

Love your openness with this, your perseverance is so great, all the best for the weeks ahead :)

You are trying and that’s all that matters. I shudder to think of all the time I’ve consumed thinking, obsessing about my weight. I can’t wait to get to heaven and be in that perfect body that God designed just for me. No sin to mess it up.

A Journey is just that, a Journey. I personally think you look great! I hope you realize your goals, whatever they may be, or end up to be. And I love your video blogs, they’re just fun! And Naomi…could she be any cuter?!

Hi! I found your blog through Annie Parsons and am definitely enjoying it. Thanks for the frankness and humble beauty.. you’re a great writer and (I can tell) awesome wife and mom. :)

Well, I, for one, don’t think you even need to lose an ounce of weight. I’ve seen you in many pictures lately (and, of course, I know you personally from school), and I think you don’t even need to lose. So consider any weight loss the icing on the cake. Seriously! :)

Sarah, you are SO real. Thank you. As I write that, I realize that is the title of the song my husband wrote for me many years ago (So Real) ..so I guess that is a good thing. Your effort is worth everything, so keep it up. Love it,
    Love, Trina

I don’t think the still is a “less than attractive” shot. I think it adequately expresses how you feel right now…would you agree? :)

I know you are frustrated with how this journey has gone so far, but let me shed a little “medical” light on the subject — do you have high blood pressure? are you considered morbidly obese? do you have high cholesterol? do you carry so much extra weight that your joints ache? do you have heart disease? do you have diabetes?

If you were able to answer “no” to these questions, relax. You ARE working out. You ARE conscious of what you feed your body.

    Everything will fall into place.

Thanks for continuing to be so transparent!

I love how you are keepin it real!!! I get a bit tired of the perfect blogs, and I love that you are not “selling” perfection!! Keep on tryin girl, I.m right there with ya.

Oh, boy, do I know that feeling.

    I love your video blogs!

I love your video blogs and will miss them when they are gone.

    You can do this!

I think the older we (or at least for me) get the harder it is to take off the weight. The more diligent I need to be, the more motivated, and the more I need to be accountable. When those things are not all working together the weight doesn’t come off – either I stay in one place or the scale goes up. I am learning right along with your friend.

curious. dont know if youve been asked this yet. and you prolly thought about it already…but, just in case…have you gained muscle? im just thinking with all this running and exercise, maybe youre gaining muscle, losing inches?? dunno.

    and yes. STUN-NEEEN!

  13. Laura says:

I too think you are beautiful , and personally do not think you need to lose weight.
But it's not about what I think &
feel it's about your own self
    esteem!
Good Luck this week and remember every day is a new day to start fresh!

PS . Do you use Bare Minerals?? Your skin is so pretty!

  14. Alana says:

The journey really is the most important part. I admire you for doing the video blogs. Even though I have talked about my weight loss journey on the blog and it has served as accountability, I can’t imagine having to give everyone weekly updates. You really do look amazing just the way you are!
