carrot pudding: cooked carrots, oil, eggs, brown sugar and some cinnamon (maybe i'm forgetting something), puree it (i know it SOUNDS gross) and then bake it. it is warm and soft and tastes very much like sweet potatoes. seriously.

ok...so i just read your menu for thanksgiving dinner and realized...why in the world do we create oxymoron dishes...
cranberry salad,
carrot pudding,
corn casserole,
seriously...are we trying to kid ourselves here?!?! Let's just call them what they are and hope that our thankful hearts will be enough restitution to take away those sweet calories!

Sarah, your menu looks delish. I am only responsible for the broccoli casserole, sweet potato souffle, butter beans and the pumpkin cheesecake. My sister and parents are supplying all the other amazing dishes.

But you're right. Until I typed it out I didn't know exactly what the menu looked like. We're gonna bust a gut as we say here in the south.

And guess what!?! It IS a small world! My parents have a ministry in the Philippines called Abounding Grace and they go there every year in January for five weeks to minister to the Filippino people. This will be their fifth year and they love it. They met a Filippino lady at their home church and she told them of the needs in her small hometown. They ran with it. The ministry has built churches in remote mountain areas, fed children, trained preachers, etc.

One bit of advise...don't eat balut (sp?) if they offer it to you, OK? Or close your eyes tight and eat in the dark like they do there if you do take the plunge.

Happy Thanksgiving!
