I think I worked off all my calories from Thursday. And I left them in San Marino.
We spent yesterday chasing after the girls through 120 acres of gardens at the Huntington Library and Gardens. I carried my 60 pound first grader on my back up a road named “Steep Incline” and I wrestled a screaming toddler to a time out position more than once. We walked/jogged/ran through the Chinese, Japanese, Rose, Shakespeare, and Children’s gardens.
I dragged my uninterested 6 year old through the European Art exhibit and showed her the Guttenberg Bible and Ellesmere Chaucer Manuscript in the Library. And then we played tag on the lawn.
I am exhausted. Black Friday well spent.
What did you do on Friday?

Wish I could say I worked off all the calories I consumed from the massive Thanksgiving meal we had.
I volunteered at the Samaritan’s Purse Warehouse where they process all the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes and pack them in cartons to ship to their destinations. Yesterday’s boxes were headed to the Dominican Republic. So even though I didn’t work out, I was blessed through the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.
Your girls look so beautiful!
I spent my balck friday with my 5 yr old daughter Grace , snuggling on the couch watching ” Eloise at Christmas time” and started putting the tree up!
That place looks beautiful!
My morning was spent doing laundry and hanging with my guys. I put the leftovers in the freezer. Then we packed for a weekend in St. Louis. My son’t last football tournament is this weekend in a town on the northwestern outskirts of St Louis.
Our first game isn’t till 4 this afternoon (Saturday), but our nephew was playing in a tournament just south of the city, so we stopped on the way up for his game.
All in all a nice family day…just the way I like it!
The Huntington Library is such a special place to me. Did you see Blue Boy and Pinkie (my favorite paintings from childhood)? What a wonderful way to spend Black Friday!
We stayed in our jammies til late, I went for a jog and then we were off for Thanksgiving dinner #2 at the in-laws. It was a good day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
helped lindsey set up her booth for craft fair, drove home from s.l.o., and sneezed a lot (sick).

What is your trick for such stunning photos? They are always AMAZING!
Emily – sometimes i play around with my pix in Picnik.com, but for these i just warmed up the colors and put a little glow on them in Picasa. =)
how fun! your girls are growing up so quickly- and they are so beautiful. i’m sorry i missed you this short trip home, but i can’t wait to see you a ton when i come home in two weeks! love you, friend!
Your day sounds fun! It was much more energetic than mine. I hung out with family in the morning and then while my husband and son played at the house my daughter and I ran and got a gift for Grandma. We then window shopped and ended at Starbucks for some hot chocolate. Good day.
