A Peek

So far so good.

6850 words. One step at a time, one word at a time in the right direction.

I’m working on two different projects so here’s a peep in the door:

  1. A Bible Study curriculum project. Now I know there is “no market” for this right now (I’m sure and I’m sure that is what I will hear at my conference in 5 weeks), but I’m really not writing this one to sell to a house. I’m writing it for my own women that meet every other Thursday at church. I teach a small group and we will be running out of lessons soon so I need to come up with something quick. I had a great idea a few weeks ago and I’m running with it. If it comes out to be something great, then I will try to shop it. We’ll see.
  2. A truth-based, personal-essay style memoir. I think I have the structure and the purpose and this is the one I’m excited about.

My word count is both of them put together because I am doing both concurrently. So much for focus.

Some other people that should be writing books because they are that good….

what the?!?! THAT was a surprise ending, that’s for sure. thank you, friend. i don’t take your words lightly. i would love to write a memoir someday, but i have no clue for the context of it or where/how to even begin. sigh.

i think what you are doing is so great. kudos to you for your progress.

    you make me smile, friend.

  2. Denise says:

i want to read them both.

  3. Cindy Beall says:

Don’t know the other two but Alece, oh yes ma’am she should write a book. I drink in her stuff.

  4. Ellen says:

Very exciting. You wrote something about the moon once and it made me think that you could write a beautiful children’s picture book-why not squeeze that in with the other two?

OHHH A Bible study and a memoir. I would love to read both!!

How amazing for you. Good job on continuing on with your writing!!

    First: WAY TO GO!

Second: I have a small group of friends that are going to be doing faith sharing at my house every other week… and as we looked into ways to go about it I also looked into Bible Study.

Anything worthwhile that I found was hundreds of dollars that large, church groups buy. Any sort of real life study you create, you have at least one person interested!!!

And Alece… I’ll totally read you book. Whatever it says, I’ll read.

Alece’s book would be on the best seller’s list.

Sarah, I am actually excited to hear about your bible study, I am always looking for new stuff for our group.

    Hi Sarah

I just had a peek in from OurCC. You have a lovely blog and what a lovely idea to write personally for the women in your group.

I wish I was closer so I could visit and join in.

    humbled…

i’m in a place where i feel i don’t have much to offer, and the fact that God is still able to use my words to impact hearts humbles me and shows me even clearer His ability to work through a broken vessel.

    thanks, friends.

and sarah? i can’t wait to meet you. i owe you a hug. (quite a few in fact.)

  11. Lisa Leonard says:

i want to read them both, too!!

  12. Kristen says:

i am with denise and lisan… i want to read them both. i hope you share when you are finished.

  13. Louise Knight says:

((Alece – NIKE. Get into your blog and pull out the stuff you know can work in a book. You’ve already written it.))

Sarah – just popped in from ourcc. I love the pics on your blog. Just beautiful. Excited to hear more about your essay. And, like Gitz, I’d love to see what you produce for your group. Hubs and I run small groups in our church and it’s always difficult to find good material. With good, discussion-generating questions.
