The two most common words uttered in churches across America…
“Let’s pray…”
And then the pastor/elder/ worship leader launches into a prayer about people you don’t know, programs you won’t attend or missionaries you don’t care about. But you bow your head and close your eyes anyway but think about what you have to buy from Trader Joe’s this afternoon.
So maybe it feels overused or overdone, or even boring.
But that’s not the kind of prayer I”m talking about. I’m talking about bringing each other to the cross because as Christ-followers we are His hands and His feet here on earth. And sometimes we can’t walk by ourselves and have to be taken on a stretcher.
So today, in the comments, leave a request for prayer about you or your immediate family and we will pray.
Even if you do not pray yourself, but want us to pray for you, leave a comment.
Even if you do not want us to know who you are, leave one anyway and put “Anonymous” in the name and email fields. I will pray. Others who read it will pray.
But if you do leave your name, I will pray for your by name. I promise this.
So be brave, leave a comment, and then pray for the others before you who have left prayer requests.
And then sit back and watch God work.
This kind of prayer is never boring.

Could you please pray that I’ll be able to connect with some wise, Christian women? Most of my friends are not christians right now, and they’re great, but I can only relate to them to a certain point and often feel lonely when I’m with them. I’d love to have a couple friend to be accountable with and grow together spiritually.
Thanks for sharing your marriage story Sarah. It made me think again about having healthy boundaries in mine. You are very courageous and I know your story has and will help many couples.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for doing this, it means so much to so many of us.
Please pray for my husband, pray for him to seek a christian-based family life like I am trying to lead, pray for his addiction to pornography, and pray for him to see all the positives in our life and not focus on the negatives.
My prayer list is pretty long. I’ve gone through a lot this summer and it’s been rough. I’ve learned a lot, but that doesn’t make the pain go away. If you will, please pray that God will bring me a real friend. One that actually won’t leave me alone down the road. I know He is my friend but it’d be nice to have somewhere that I can see and hug etc. Also please pray for those addicted to pornography. Some of my old friends were.
Thank you so much for this wonderful work…please pray for my relationship…that we can both be healed and see the love and joy we bring to each other…that we can move through the things that are keeping us stuck and find our way back to each other.
That God would heal my 14yo who has a brain injury.
Please pray for my family that we are able to resolve the tremendous financial hardship we are in. Also, for our marriage, which is often strained and difficult and distant.
Please pray for my husband, he just lost his new job today and is really depressed and feels like giving up. And also for our marriage thanks.
Thanks Sarah! You are doing so great letting God use you and your family. Please pray for Andrew! He needs a miracle healing. He’s 12. His mom’s blog:

Thanks and God Bless! Praying for you all.
Thank you! and thanks for your blog.
Please pray for my mom, val. she is dying of copd. only 66. would love more time, but would love to see her at peace, too. that she would be healed miraculously. that would be wonderful. thanks!
Please pray for my daughter Perryann. She is 15 1/2 and is questioning her faith. She goes to a Christian High School, serves in our Childrens Ministry on Sundays and goes to youth group every week and loves it.. but she told me the other day she is not sure if God exists. She is not sure that heaven exists and maybe we just cease to exist when we die. She is seeking answers which is good and I am glad she is asking now and not when she is older and doesn’t have the support. Please pray for her safety while she is in doubt. Please pray that she will see and hear and feel Christ in her life and know that he is real. Please pray for a stronger faith and love to come from this time of doubt. Thank you. I will be praying for your other readers along with you.
Please pray for my daughter Adriana and my grandson Benjamin who she is carrying. She is 27 weeks pregnant and has had many complications during this pregnancy. She has a rare clotting disorder and has to be on blood thinners, she has diabetes, and just recently she was hospitalized for 2 weeks due to pneumonia and a collapsed lung. All of this is made harder due to her fears (and ours too) as this pregnancy progresses. You see, last March she gave birth to my granddaughter, Sophia, who was stillborn just a week before her due date. So she is terrified of this happening again. More than anything I want her to put her trust and faith in our Lord, but she seems unable to do that…and that grieves me. Thank you for this offer of prayer! God Bless You!
Thank you for this prayer program. My friend’s junior sister and senior brother have mental health problems, and her parents to know The Lord as their Savior.
Pray for my marriage. For healing and restoration. for God to work a miracle in both of our lives.
For conviction, repentance, purifying, vulnerability, restoration, and joy in a marriage that we are struggling to hold onto that has been torn apart as a result of my bad choices as a youth and unforgiveness and and seeking revenge as well as a sexual addiction. We have been married for 27 years.I pray for God to restore His salvation in Him as he is blaming God for his past experiences.
Please pray for my 3 year old who has been diagnosed with autism and severe epilepsy. I pray every day that the seizures will stop. I would also like you to please pray for me so that I may find the faith and strength in God, and myself to be the kind of mommy he needs.
Thank you Sarah.
Sarah- I have truly been touched by your testimony and transparency. I know that God is using you and your story in a mighty way. And lately I have be amazed at the power of prayer, so thank-you for doing this.
I would greatly appreciate prayer for my extended family,as my mom remarried last year and the family is really struggling to “blend” with her new husband and his family. My cousin Helena, who is stationed in Guam with her husband and is dealing with being a mom of 4 and all the politics of being a military wife in a foreign country for the first time. And for my family, that my husband Aaron will return safely from his current TDY and that our family will continue to be strong and grow in the Lord. God is SO Good.
Sarah thank you so much for wanting to pray for us and with us.
I am a christian, a believer of God’s Word, i also used to be very close with my God, it’s just that lately (and i mean about 5 months) i am in a spiritual amnesia. I WANT and i TRY so hard to get out of it, but just when i think i am out i realise that i’m still there, numb as ever.
And i know what caused it, it’s because i tend to look to much at people instead of Christ. When i see a person that pretends to be something that he/she isn’t is really bothering me. And right now, in our church there are a lot of people like this, and it’s so confusing. I try so hard to love them as Christ loved me and i am confronted with difficulties here.
Please pray for me! Thank you very much!
God bless you all!
And Sarah, since you came up with this idea of praying for each other, you can let us know what do you want us to pray for you!
For my mom…
I am praying for all of you by name. thank you so much for sharing.
please continue to leave requests, or if prayers are answered, i’d love to know that too!!
Please pray for my husband. He left me and my children after 19 years of marriage this past May. Please pray that he learns to put God in the center of his life… and pray for me and my two girls that we may get through this painful time. Thank you so very much. God bless you Sarah.
May Lord hear and and answer all your prayers according to His most perfect will. In Jesus’ name.
Please pray for me. The Lord knows why.
Please pray for me to have courage and act on righting a wrong.
Pray for the Lord to go before me to the other person and prepare her heart. Please pray for me to have the right words to say
Thank you for praying for me.
Please pray that God will work a miracle and that my grandchildren, who have been in foster care for 9 months, will be returned home. Social services has lied about so many things. My daughter and son-in-law have complied with every request social services has asked of them and the battle continues. I barely got to know my granddaughter when she was taken away. We are all believers and we know the Lord has a plan and a purpose. The waiting is difficult and heartbreaking.
I have been reading through the comments and I can not believe how many requests there are for marriages. I myself have been in a battle with my own marriage for the past year. God’s grace is amazing when we avail ourselves of his mercy and forgiveness. Satan would like nothing better than to see marriages and families fail. I will pray for all the marriages mentioned on here.
I pray God helps me to be the wife, mother and person He created me to be. I pray for guidance on how to get there, how to trust and how to no doubt Him.
I also pray for those who are praying for me. May God hear your prayers.
God hears us even when it feels like we have been forgotten.
He hears us now and rejoices in this community of strangers who lift each other up in the name of the One we believe in…no matter how strong or weak our faith is.
In gratitude and thanksgiving for the new life that Jesus is creating inside of me.
In supplication that my faith would be renewed. I pray for the boldness that somewhere along the way I lost.
