The two most common words uttered in churches across America…
“Let’s pray…”
And then the pastor/elder/ worship leader launches into a prayer about people you don’t know, programs you won’t attend or missionaries you don’t care about. But you bow your head and close your eyes anyway but think about what you have to buy from Trader Joe’s this afternoon.
So maybe it feels overused or overdone, or even boring.
But that’s not the kind of prayer I”m talking about. I’m talking about bringing each other to the cross because as Christ-followers we are His hands and His feet here on earth. And sometimes we can’t walk by ourselves and have to be taken on a stretcher.
So today, in the comments, leave a request for prayer about you or your immediate family and we will pray.
Even if you do not pray yourself, but want us to pray for you, leave a comment.
Even if you do not want us to know who you are, leave one anyway and put “Anonymous” in the name and email fields. I will pray. Others who read it will pray.
But if you do leave your name, I will pray for your by name. I promise this.
So be brave, leave a comment, and then pray for the others before you who have left prayer requests.
And then sit back and watch God work.
This kind of prayer is never boring.

My husband & I are adopting – adding as many as 3 more (between the ages of 4-7) to our current 1 child family. Got the call yesterday to be ready to travel in 6 weeks. Within a day of our dossier arriving in the country. There are so many things that we need (money, organization, bigger vehicle, patience) but most of all we need to hang on to Jesus, and not be overwhelmed by what to Him is just the details of our obedience.

This is an awesome idea! Thank you so much for praying for all of us. Please pray for my husband to find a job, as he graduated from film school last August and still hasn’t found a job. And, then to top it off our car broke down and now we’re down to one. It seems overwhelming at times. Does anyone ever feel that God “forgot” about them? Is it wrong to think that at times? I keep praying for God to continue to use us and show us His way, but at times like this it’s so so hard.

One of my greatest desires in life is to be a foster parent. Pray that this desire would be fulfilled. That I would meet a man who that would be his heart too. I feel like I’m in a just trust and wait time of my life and it’s hard and I’m not so good at it. So please pray for the power to trust and hope.

My sister and her husband have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half. I have been praying that God would fulfill this dream by the end of this year. I also pray that his will be done, but it can’t hurt to ask! My heart hurts for her as I watch her with my two children and I want this for her so badly.

Please pray for my transexual son. I ask for someone to be in his life to influence him to seek a relationship with God.
My husband and I have been waiting for God to answer a very specific question about his employment and so far no answers. We are desperate for wisdom of what to do and a little anxious (although I know we shouldn’t be) as we are in the process of selling our house and aren’t sure where we should be looking to end up! We are also stuck in debt and I sooo desperately want to be home with my children, but currently have to work full time.

Please pray for my marriage. Everything imploded over a year ago and it has been hell since. My husband has left and is…struggling fiercely. We have 3 small children. My dad lost a pretty good-paying job this past January, and just got a part-time job that pays significantly less on Sunday. While I am grateful he has any job at all, I’m not sure this new income will be enough to provide for our family (I’m in college, which we all know puts a strain on finances). I don’t know where to start…
I think the number one thing, the thing that would help sooo many of the other areas in my life, would be my relationship with Jesus. I just want to know Him. I want to know Him more personally. I want to be able to open my bible, read His word and understand it, apply it and live it.
Sadly, I haven’t opened my bible in months because I just don’t feel like I get it. I find it difficult to apply scripture to my life when I don’t understand what I’m reading.

“Where two or more are gathered in His name…” as we gather together in spirit, believing that the very power of all that He is and will always be I pray that our lives continue to be renewed and reformed and remade each day into a vessel of ministry and praise. As he builds he must first take away all that was so that what remains is Him.
I will be praying for those who have asked for prayer of knowledge of Him to have a unique and personal experience. I will, of course, also pray for the specific requests.

Sarah – your site, your prayer and your support has been amazing! Yes please pray for me and my husband. Pray that Gods love and grace and mercy will flow through us to each other.
It’s powerful reading all of these requests, lifting them up to God as I do so, being reminded of how much pain and beauty there is in the world. I am praying for a husband and a family of my own. Being 32 and single can be difficult and the longing is strong at times. This is one of those times.
I pray for each request and the families behind it today. For answered prayers; but also for a deep connection for each person with our God, for each trial and triumph listed above to be even more reason to draw closer to and press in deeper to our sweet Father. For each person to be able to “see” God in the midst of their circumstances, taking their hand and leading the way, and for each person to feel His love tangibly.

Please pray for my husband who has faced many health problems recently. We are now awaiting the results of a recent biopsy and are praying that it is not cancer.
I am giving thanks to God for His blessings on our marriage over the years, for growing closer to each other, and to the Lord as we now work together in His service.
For all of you who have asked for prayers concerning your marriage, I would like to say “Keep working at it, keep praying, be encouraged and do not give up”. Despite satan’s many attempts to destroy our marriage the Lord has protected the marriage and our relationship. It has not always been easy, at times it has been very difficult, but we are so thankful that we stayed the course.
I have two prayer requests. The first is for the health & safety of the baby I am carrying. I still have 10 weeks to go & have been in the hospital twice so far due to preterm labor. She is already a miracle, I was told I could never get pregnant again.
Because of this, I have been on disability & unable to work. We are WAY behind on everything. God comes through every single time a bill is due or we have something unexpected come up, but I still stress about it everyday. Pray that I give the worry to Him. He will provide as He always has.

Pray for baby niece, Vivien Marie. I watched her be brought into the world last Tuesday and also watched as she was air lifted to Stanford Hospital. She has been there for over a week. The doctors have narrowed it down to a muscle disorder. She is a tough little cookie blessed with two wonderful parents but we need all the prayers we can get right now. Grace & Peace – Lord we ask for this man to find you and accept your love for him. Heal the resentment and anger and allow this wife to show your love.
Susan – Lord we pray for Eric and his addiction and mental issues. Draw him close to you and show him YOUR ability to give him what he really needs.
Carol S. – We ask for prayer for her husband that you would heal in a way you can – and help them to trust you. We thank you for their marriage and their faith in you.
Teresa – Lord please keep this baby safe and bring her to term. Give them a healthy happy baby to love and dedicate to you. Please provide for them financially and show them that you will never let go of them. Help them make wise choices with your provisions.
Noelle White – Lord please help little Vivien and help her physically. Give these parents your grace and help them to trust you. Please ease physical pain for her.

My prayer requests:
A husband who has two addictions – alcohol and porn. He does know the Lord but is trying to “fix” things on his own. I pray for brokenness in him to God’s plan for his life and that he would be the spiritual leader of our family.
Second, we both lost our jobs 8 days apart from each other in May. My husband has since found a job (end of July) but I have not. I ask that you pray that God will provide a job for me.

Thank you so much for your courage to share your story. I appreciate it more than I can say. Please pray for my husband to really let the Lord into his heart. He talks about being a Christian, but I don’t think he has taken that important step of surrendering. We have been married for almost 17 years and I became a believer about 11 years ago. I’m not giving up.

Please pray for my father, who is recovering from heart surgery, and for my mother, for the strength she needs, including the strength to allow others to help her. I would also appreciate prayers for me, to allow the Lord to help me do the things I need to do.
I will pray for everyone here, for needs spoken and unspoken.
Please pray that I am able to conceive another child. I don’t want to walk around for the rest of my life feeling incomplete. And if God doesn’t see another baby for me in my future please pray that I will come to terms with that…. and that I won’t allow my disappointment to ruin my marriage. Infertility has a way of taking its toll on a marriage. Thank you
