this weekend was my husbands first weekend off since we got married. He has always had other days off - never sat and sun. Sometimes he was home on weekends but it has always been a holiday or vacation. Having him home felt like a holiday. It was great.
He started a new job two weeks ago. He is closer to my work, so we spend lunch together. We get more time in the morning together because his commute is shorter.

As our marriage heals - it appears this new job is a tool god is using to help it. We have more time together. My husband is hapier in his job.

For the first time in 13 years I am packing him a lunch for work and I love it. Some much joy and contentment is found laying out the salami just right. And I will share you a secret...I right out "I love you" with the mustard each morning before I spread it. SILLY i know but it makes me so happy.

Seriously, Sarah, when you write I feel like I'm savoring words like rich candy. You have such a gift.

I've been realizing recently that the friends I've known the longest are the ones I keep going back to - time plays such a key role in friendships.
Sounds like a fantastic weekend!

Praying blessings on you and your husband as you offer this to God. You are truly ministering to others. Beautiful!

Are they supposed to have a bath every night? I'm in big trouble if they are. :) What a special weekend, and thank you as well to Lisa for capturing it so beautifully with the photos.

Stephanie, all I can say is....I want to have an "Annual Space Derby"! The rest of your comment was great but that was where I got stuck.

EVERYONE NEEDS A SPACE DERBY!!!
