Trusting and a Little TV Clip

When CBN contacted us several months ago because they’d heard about our story and wanted to do a short feature, of course we said YES.

But as the time got closer to film and there were talks about film crews and lights, I got pretty nervous.

There is nothing special about me to warrant this.

What if we get hate mail/ nasty phone calls, etc?

I have to trust that someone else will do this story justice.

It came down to simple TRUST for me.

But what I realized was that in the end, I wasn’t placing this story in someone else’s hands, but in God’s. I was trusting HIM with our words and feelings and desires. I was trusting HIM with our integrity. I was trusting HIM with all of this.

And I am so glad we did.

Thank you to Kristi Watts and her amazing crew for being so gentle with TV newbies like us and for treating our story with such respect and tact.

That was a wonderful thing you did, getting your story out there. My ex cheated too, but he left & wasn’t willing to work things out. He did not allow Our Lord in, to help.
I am now remarried to a wonderful man, who has allowed the Lord to lead our relationship. All is wonderful in our life. :)
Thank you for sharing your story.
God Bless the both of you.

Thanks for being so candid in coming out with your story. It is a testimony that reminds us that without Christ, apart from God, we can do nothing. It gloifies God because while satan meant to kill and destroy your marriage and your lives, God used this painful time in your lives to restore your marriage and bring you and your husband back to Him. What an awesome God we serve!

I was flipping channels on TV last night and came upon your piece. I didn’t even realize it was you until I’d begun watching and thinking that this story sounds familiar. I’m sure it was a difficult story to tell, but one that will help many people.

  9. Breathtaking and brave. And inspiring. And redemptive. And I could go on…

  10. andy says:

someone said to me that God put our faces on the front of us so we could look forward, instead of in the back of our head to look at the past. keep looking to Jesus, and you will finish well!

  11. Angela says:

Beautifully honest. I’m so glad you trusted in Him. You sharing your story has touched many, and and as a result, I am certain it will help heal and restore many more. I’m proud of the both of you, as I am sure many are. But even more than that, God is proud beyond what you could ever imagine. You’ve given Him all the Glory through this, and I’m sure that He’ll take your marriage even higher than it already is because of it. You are a living example of the transformative power of God, when we offer ourselves up to Him completely. Well done! :)

Today this verse from 1 Peter is resonating all over the place for me- in my own life, as I watched the video of God’s incredible restoration of your marriage, as I pray today for the lives of friends around me- it’s everywhere and I’m trying to pay attention to what God is communicating. Thank you for your constant candor, Sarah.

    1 Peter 1:6-7
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you’ve had to endure many trials for a little while. These trials show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests gold- though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

By the way- you looked GREAT in the video!
