Take a Leap and…

…believe that you are ALREADY AMAZING.

That’s what my friend Holley Gerth led me to believe almost 3 years ago. That I was already something special, something I had a hard time believing myself.

We were at the same writer’s conference and I had met her earlier in the week. At the time, she was working full time for Dayspring. I was trying to figure out what to do with my life. She was trying to get people to write greeting cards for Dayspring.

I sat next to her at the conference coffee shop, and I had no idea that sliding up next to her on a sofa would change my life forever.

We chatted, she was so easy going, beautiful and seemed like if we live near one another, we would be great friends. She shared with me the bare bones of a super-secret idea that had been brewing between her and a girl I would eventually meet, Stephanie Bryant. That idea was (in)courage.

Things moved on brilliantly after that, but meeting Holley has always been a very special memory for me.

She has a brand new book out called You are Already Amazing: Embracing Who You are, Becoming All God Created You to Be. Holley has a certain way of making every woman feel valued, every voice feel strong and every person feel as if they are oh, so important. And Holley is every bit as sweet and amazing as she seems. Believe me.

It’s a special day today so let’s do something special:

I’m going to be giving away THREE copies of her already amazing book!!

  3. Rhonda Wozniak says:

Definitely my husband. No matter what happens he makes me feel like I am amazing. I was just thinking about it earlier today. He is such a wonderful gift.

  4. Lisa Faust says:

My husband & my oldest son have always been totally encouraging to me. I praise the Lord for them!!

  5. Lately….I would have to say it’s my Aunt. She has become my cheerleader for my art and my life lately. She’s only 16 yrs older than me and her sister (my mom) was 6 yesars older than her. Since my mom died 30 yrs ago (I was just 19). She didn’t really know how to enter into my life. She applauded my marriage and the birth of my kids. But she was a bit of a know it all at times and didn’t always listen to what I was saying. After many years of me figuring me out and letting her back into my life. Our relationship is on a much more even keel. She has a lot of wisdom and she reminds me so much of my mom. I feel very blessed to have her in my life.

  6. Who makes me feel amazing? My daughter. She is grown and frequently tells me what a wonderful mom I am and was.

  7. My husband and my mom, hands down. And I think they’re pretty amazing, too! :)

  8. Jan Yuille says:

A person who always make me feel amazing is my 94 friend. She is one of my best friends (I am 54). I have known her for over 18 years. She has been my friend through the birth of my two boys and has watched them go through school and now onto University. She was there when my father passed away and through the years I cared for my mother before she passed away. When I am feeling less than she is always there to reassure me I am more than – more than enough.

  9. Joan Rioux says:

My BFF Renee ~ We raised our children together, they were in church and 4 H together every week. To this day she builds me up and helps me believe I can do things I never thought I could do.
I consider her God’s most precious gift to me. †

  10. Lisa Wright says:

My good friend Katrinka. She is so encouraging and genuine. Her smile lights up a room. God has given me a great gift in our friendship.

  11. Kathy Smith says:

My son, Nathan, has been the person that reminds me that I am amazing and loved by God when I let daily issues drag me down. He reminds me of when he was about 5 yrs old and I prayed in the spirit for the healing of a hole in his eardrum. His ear was healed
and he said he would never forget that and how that influenced his life. It is important to remember that you are an amazing person to God!

  12. My husband Brenden. He is my my best friend and definitly keeps me real and grounded.

  13. My husband definitely makes me feel special and wonderful just as I am.

  14. Cherri Koeberl says:

My older sister Deb makes me feel like I am amazing. She always knows the right encouragement to give me as I battle my present storm which is cancer. I am so grateful that God has blessed me with this special sister. I am fortunate indeed. I look forward to seeing what this new book is all about. Exciting!!!

  15. My best friend, Bonnie. She inspires me. She encourages me everyday. She lifts me up. She prays for me. And I cherish our time together. We’ve endured tragedy, joys, hardships, and happiness together and I look forward to doing that for as long as the good Lord allows.

  16. My girlfriends inspire me to live a more authentic and fulfilling life! We challenge each other to live a life that is honest and respectful of others and that honors Christ.

  17. Hmmm…that’s really hard. I guess it would be a friend I met over 3 years ago who continually asks why I settle for less than best in my life. Wow, she tells me how it is but in a loving way and tells me I deserve so much more and so much happiness in life. Sometimes you just need that nudge to realize that (or at least I do:). She came to church with me a 3 weeks ago (she asked to!) That was a really special evening for me.

  18. my best friend, who encourages me and accepts me.

  19. my friend Michelle is one of the most encouraging people and she is always so very supporting of me in all that I do.–even treating me like family with her own.

  20. My two best friends… who also happen to be my sisters :-)

  21. My husband is my greatest encourager. He is so proud of my writing efforts and loves to tell others about it (aw shucks, he’s really good to me). He builds my confidence and makes me feel like my efforts are worthwhile.
Thanks for the chance to share how much he means to me!

  22. My friend at work, Karen is an amazing encourager – she often tells me of things I do that I think nothing of but that she says are brilliant – so I feel like doing more of them! Also my sister, Rebecca always makes me feel so worthwhile :)

  23. My husband and my kids think I am amazing–and they know all my faults the most–that’s grace :) I love them and think they are pretty amazing, too :)

  24. My best friend, Kym, has encouraged me so much since we first met in high school. 20+ years later she is my best encourager, friend, confidante, spiritual mentor, etc.

  25. Debbie B says:

Who makes me feel amazing???…it certainly isn’t the voice in MY head because that voice tells me otherwise. But 2 people make me feel pretty amazing when I hear them say how much they love me & need me…my husband & precious daughter. They encourage me with their love for me.

  26. My friends Laurie, Sarah & Tammy, and till we grew apart my friends Cassie & Vickey

  27. My chldren and grandchildren make me feel amazing and now, in turn, I see how amazing they are as they face life’s obstacles.

  28. my grandson Ryan makes me feel amazing . . .Ryan is autistic and doesn’t connect with very many people, and he hate to be touched – - but with me, he climbs in my lap and takes my hand and will talk to me for hours about whatever “thing” he is into right now. He and I have a “special” signal that we have done since he was two – - i sign i love you to him and he signs back i love you, two!

  29. Denise Keeter says:

My amazing husband. I am so, so blessed.

  30. Brooke Donner says:

My husband. He loves me and accepts me for who I am, when it feels like nobody else in my world does.

  31. My friend Jill does. She is absolutely amazing herself, a wonderful mom, going to get her masters degree and changing careers while working full time and being involved in our church and in the bible study I met her through, and is gorgeous and always put together on top of it all. And then she helps me out! She encourages me, and she’s the one who sent me the link here because she understands and just by being around her, she makes you feel fabulous and amazing.

  32. My 2 wonderful monkeys(daughters)! The youngest (8) when she draws me pictures with her and I and lots of hearts. And when she begs me to continue telling her a made up story and I should write it down. My oldest (17) as she is always telling me I am doing a great job and how thankful she is for me. I would not be the person I am today without these amazing souls. They are truely my miracles and gifts from God. They taught me unconditional love and I had that love in me.

  33. Of anyone, over my whole life, the person who has always made me feel this way is my father. His believing in me taught me to believe in myself. Without being critical, he encouraged me to be the best person I could be, and to be true to myself. Numerous times he expressed this with words, but words wouldn’t have been necessary; the satisfaction in the way he smiles at me says it all. The most amazing thing to me is that he didn’t receive this from his own parents. He was made to feel that he didn’t measure up. So this was truly a gift that he was able to give me.

  34. My husband, and my parents (both now deceased), and a few close women friends always bolster me up when I feel low, and of little value to anyone. And a young woman I mentored, who when I was outplaced, went in to our boss and told him he was “an idiot”, that she learned everything she knew from working with me – that was affirming.

  35. My sister makes me feel amazing on a daily basis. No matter what’s happening in my life, she always knows the right thing to say to encourage and comfort me. I’m so blessed to have her.

  36. Most of my friends help to make me feel amazing, but Pat has a way of being sooo positive when I’m feeling down or like I messed up again. She recently complimented me on a prayer i wrote and even mentioned taking that skill further which, I had been thinking about but, hadn’t shared with anyone yet!!

Holley, I just reading your book, “God’s Heart for You,” and am really enjoying the accompanying scripture and questions.I can see this bringing more JOY into my life as well as others who are reading it too. Thanks a bunch!

    Shalom, Sandy

  37. my dearest friend Emily always makes me feel special! Thanks so much for the give-away!

  38. My Children are my biggest ego boosters! (also my biggest humbler’s) – I guess that’s why God gave them to me – he knew I needed both!!

  39. My husband and my dad constantly build me up and show me they think I am amazing.

  40. Jesus. He thinks I am amazing, even when I feel no one else is cheering for me.

  41. Suzanne says:

My 12 old twin daughters make me feel Already Amazing. Post divorce can leave your self esteem in the pits and questioning your capabilities. I have been so blessed with two little girls who never fail to inspire me. They are incredibly amazing themselves and have always complimented me on everything from a dinner I cooked to saying I’m a very good Mom. They still do and they make me feel on top of the world!

  42. Genia Horton says:

My husband and daughter love me, BUT the love of a grandchild is the most amazing, unconditional, pure love, outside of Jesus Christ, that I think I’ve ever experienced. It’s a new kind of love that I believe only comes from God through innocence. There is nothing more precious than for my grandson, Dylan, to just blurt out from his little heart, “Grandma, I love you.” He means it and I know it, too. I

  43. Katrina says:

my friend kendra makes me feel amazing. love her. <3

  44. My friend Sandi, she has gone through child raising, family troubles and some really tough workplace times with me and still is encouraging with every word we speak to each other. A rare breed.
